Concerts

We sing twice yearly in prestigious venues in East Anglia such as Snape Maltings and St Edmundsbury Cathedral and on the University of Essex main campus in the Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall with professional soloists and orchestras. In recent years we have performed great works such as Bach’s Mass in B Minor, Beethoven’s Miss Solemnis, Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 and Britten’s War Requiem, conducted by Richard Cooke.

On February 15th 2020 we present a programme at Chelmsford Cathedral accompanied by the London Mozart Players which includes Fauré’s Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine; Elgar’s The Snow; Stravinsky’s Pulchinella Suite and Mendelssohn’s Hör mein Bitten (Hear my Prayer). On the 2nd May 2020 we return to Snape Maltings for what will be Richard Cooke’s final concert with the choir when we will perform Bach’s Mass in B Minor.
